Single Release “The Lovers Are Losing”

Keane will release their new single The Lovers Are Losing on 20th October, one week after the release of their third highly anticipated album Perfect Symmetry on 13th October.

Keane’s much talked about return was marked with a free download of the first track on the album called Spiralling. Lauded by critics as one of the most striking and impressive returns in years, and downloaded by an unprecedented half a million fans, the band has marked its return with a soaring technicolour explosion of stellar pop.

The Lovers Are Losing perfectly encapsulates the call to arms that recurs throughout this album. The song addresses the gaping chasm between what we, the human race, could be and what we actually are. Taking as its starting point the simple battle of "lovers vs haters" much noted by both hippies and rappers, The Lovers Are Losing warns that at this moment in time the romantic notion of "love and peace" is genuinely in danger of being altogether destroyed. The Lovers Are Losing is a rallying call to the "lovers" of humanity.

The unhinged energy of Tom's thrilling one-take vocal gives a new gravitas to the epic, climactic chorus so beloved of Keane fans. This song once again shows Keane as one of the most unique and engaging bands of this decade.
