Queen sign to Universal Music

You will have seen the recent media reports that Queen have signed to Universal Music. We can confirm to you this very exciting news.

There was no press release and we did not actively seek the headlines, but the amount of media coverage says much about the stature of the band, and the value of their catalogue. This is another coup for our company.

The agreement starts from January 1, 2011, covering the world outside North America. This is for Queen's entire recorded catalogue from 1973, and includes such music milestones as "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "We Are The Champions," "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites The Dust."

These and many other Queen classics have become hugely popular around the world. So have the band's numerous albums and, in particular, their "Greatest Hits" releases.

We lead the industry in re-imagining and re-igniting great artist catalogues, as proven by the No. 1 midweek chart positions in the UK and Holland this week for “Exile On Main Street.” Now, we have an equally dynamic opportunity with the music of Queen.
